Born and raised in New England, I am heart fully sorry for the awful tragedy in Boston. My thoughts and prayers are with victims.

Please take a moment to reflect on the horrific tragedy with the Boston Marathon bombings. Three people are dead including an 8-Year old and 2 others with hundreds injured…Pray For Boston…Today, we are all from Boston, North Carolina..

After a tumultuous week of horror in New England, even the most ardent Red Sox fans know the Yankees are NOT Boston’s worst enemy. Speaking of, class move by the Stenibrenner family to put a Red Sox logo next to a Yankees symbol with the words “United We Stand”…That shows how we are all Americans first before our inherent animosity towards rival teams.

Pat Summerall passes away at 82. Rest in peace to “The Golden Voice”. Heaven must have needed a Hall of Fame Play-By-Play announcer.

Kentucky’s Nerlens Noel is entering the NBA Draft. Could and should he be the next Charlotte Bobcat? Personally, there is no way I would pass on Trey Burke who is Chris Paul 2.0.

With the NBA Playoffs starting this weekend, how can anyone pick against the Miami Heat? I pick the Heat over Oklahoma City Thunder in an epic 7-game finals.

Last, but not least, congratulations to my longtime friend and UNC Tar Heel legend Rasheed Wallace on an amazing 16-year career. Sheed was a 4-time All-Star who won the NBA World Title in 2004 with the Detroit Pistons. He ranks in the top 100 in NBA history in total rebounds, defensive rating, field goals, three-point field goals, three-point field-goal attempts, blocks, block percentage, minutes played, win shares and points. Wallace is also the league record-holder for technical fouls.
